Glagolitic Mass / Taras Bulba

Album by Leoš Janáček & Libuše Domanínská & Věra Soukupová & Beno Blachut & Eduard Haken & Česká filharmonie & Karel Ančerl

Glagolitic Mass and Taras Bulba are compositions by Czech composer Leoš Janáček, completed in 1926 and 1918 respectively. They combine folk-inflected melodies, modal harmonies and bold choral and orchestral textures, and they date from late in Janáček's career when his style had become more concentrated and direct.
