La voix humaine is a one-act opera (monodrama) by French composer Francis Poulenc, composed in 1958 and first performed in 1959. Scored for a solo soprano with either piano reduction or orchestral accompaniment, the piece employs a conversational vocal line, chromatic harmonies and moments of tonal clarity that reflect Poulenc's late-1950s interest in intimate, psychologically driven stage works and his place within mid-20th-century French opera.
