Symphony No. 2 in C minor, 'Resurrection', is the second symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1894 and premiered in 1895. The work employs large late-Romantic orchestral forces with choir and vocal soloists in a multi-movement structure culminating in a choral finale to explore themes of death, transfiguration and resurrection, and it represents a key step in Mahler's expansion of symphonic form and the incorporation of vocal elements into symphonic writing.
