The Planets
Album by Gustav Holst & London Symphony Orchestra & André Previn
The Planets is an orchestral suite by English composer Gustav Holst, completed in 1916. Combining expansive, colourful orchestration with astrological-inspired moods, it represents a pivotal work in Holst's output and helped shape early 20th-century orchestral practice by expanding the expressive and colouristic possibilities of the symphony orchestra.
