Lieder is a collection of art songs by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed between 1810 and 1828. Written for solo voice with piano accompaniment, these pieces employ lyrical melodic lines, rich harmonic colour and close attention to poetic text, and they occupy a central place in the development of the Romantic Lied and in Schubert's own output, spanning his early to late compositional phases.
