Symphonies 1 & 2
Album by Edward Elgar & London Symphony Orchestra & Jeffrey Tate
Symphonies Nos. 1 and 2 are orchestral works by English composer Sir Edward Elgar, composed in 1908 and 1911 respectively. Both symphonies exemplify late-Romantic orchestration and expansive thematic development, and they occupy important places in Elgar's career and in the development of early 20th-century British symphonic writing.
