Death in Venice

Album by Benjamin Britten & Philip Langridge & Alan Opie & Michael Chance & BBC Singers & City of London Sinfonia & Richard Hickox

Death in Venice is an opera by English composer Benjamin Britten, premiered in 1973. The score combines Britten's late-period orchestral colour and economy of texture with modernist harmonic elements, featuring chamber-like orchestration and introspective vocal writing, and it is the composer's final opera, closing his operatic output.
