Album by Benjamin Britten & Benjamin Luxon & John Shirley‐Quirk & Nigel Douglas & Sylvia Fisher & Jennifer Vyvyan & Dame Janet Baker & Peter Pears & English Chamber Orchestra & Benjamin Britten
Owen Wingrave is a television opera by English composer Benjamin Britten, first broadcast in 1971. Musically it belongs to Britten's later operatic output, employing chamber-sized forces, incisive orchestration, modal and dissonant harmonic language and declamatory vocal writing to explore themes of militarism and personal conscience within his established dramatic style.
