The Four Seasons
Album by Antonio Vivaldi & Gonzalo X. Ruiz & American Baroque
The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 as part of his Op. 8 collection. The concertos are Baroque works of programme music that depict seasonal scenes through virtuosic solo violin writing, contrasting string textures and ritornello-based structures, and they occupy an important place in Vivaldi's output and in the early development of instrumental programme music.
