The Concertos for Two & Three Pianos

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Christoph Eschenbach & Justus Frantz & Helmut Schmidt & London Philharmonic Orchestra

The Concertos for Two & Three Pianos are a set of piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in the late 1770s (circa 1776–1779). These classical-era concertos pair orchestral accompaniment with the interplay of two or three solo pianos, featuring conversational solo writing, contrapuntal textures and virtuosic passagework that reflect Mozart's experiments with multi-piano forces within his concerto output and the development of the genre.
