Symphony No. 9 in C major, 'The Great', D. 944 is a symphony by Austrian composer Franz Schubert, composed in 1825–1826. A large-scale work bridging late Classical and early Romantic styles, it features expansive melodies, broad orchestral textures and adventurous harmonic progressions that reflect Schubert's mature symphonic approach and his expansion of classical forms within 19th-century orchestral practice.
