Symphony no. 2
Album by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff & London Symphony Orchestra & André Previn
Symphony No. 2 is the second symphony by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, completed in 1907 and premiered in 1908. A late-Romantic, four-movement orchestral work, it features expansive melodies, rich harmonies and lush orchestration typical of Rachmaninoff's style and occupies a key place in his output as a large-scale symphonic statement following earlier difficulties in his career.
