Gianni Schicchi is a one-act comic opera by Italian composer Giacomo Puccini, first performed in 1918. Musically it combines Puccini's late-romantic lyricism with brisk comic rhythms and vivid orchestral colour, and its compact, satirical drama — presented as part of the triptych Il trittico — illustrates a lighter facet of his late output and occupies a distinct place in his oeuvre.
