Vox Balaenae is a composition by American composer George Crumb, composed in 1971. Scored for amplified flute, amplified cello and amplified piano, it employs extended techniques, unusual timbres, theatrical gestures and spatial effects and stands as an example of Crumb's middle-period exploration of timbre and spirituality within contemporary classical music.
