The Pearl Fishers is an opera by French composer Georges Bizet, first performed in 1863. Set in Ceylon and written in the Romantic style, it combines lyrical solo writing, chorus passages and colourful orchestration that reveal aspects of Bizet's emerging mature style and his use of exoticism within mid-19th-century French opera.
