Sextant

Sextant is a studio album by American jazz pianist Herbie Hancock, released in 1973. Blending avant-garde jazz, electronic experimentation and early jazz-funk, the album employs dense synthesiser textures, polyrhythmic grooves and extended ensemble improvisation, and serves as the final studio statement of Hancock's Mwandishi-era explorations into electric instrumentation and collective composition.
