Symphonie no. 5

Album by Gustav Mahler & Bamberger Symphoniker & Jonathan Nott

Symphony No. 5 is the fifth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, composed in 1901–1902. The work is a large-scale late-Romantic orchestral composition that moves from a sombre funeral march through lyrical and contrapuntal movements to an expansive finale, marking a key shift in Mahler's output from songs-with-orchestra toward purely instrumental symphonies.
