The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 as part of his Op. 8 collection. The concertos exemplify Baroque programme music, employing vivid string textures, virtuosic solo violin lines and ritornello structures to evoke seasonal imagery, and they occupy a central place in Vivaldi's output and in the development of early 18th-century programme instrumental music.
