Symphony no. 3 in D minor
Album by Anton Bruckner & Royal Scottish National Orchestra & Georg Tintner
Symphony No. 3 in D minor is the third symphony by Austrian composer Anton Bruckner, composed in 1873 and revised in later years. The work features expansive late-Romantic orchestration, Wagnerian thematic gestures and broad, organ-like brass textures within large-scale developmental structures, and it represents an early move toward the monumental symphonic approach that characterises Bruckner's later works.
