Concertos no. 21 in C major, K. 467 / no. 24 in C minor, K. 491

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Eugene Istomin & Seattle Symphony & Gerard Schwarz

This recording is a release of two piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1785 and 1786. Musically, the works contrast Mozart's lyrical, songlike writing and poised orchestration with a rarer, dramatic minor-key intensity, reflecting a phase in his late-middle period when he expanded the expressive and pianistic scope of the concerto genre.
First released: 12th March 1996
