Piano Concerto no. 2 in C minor

Album by Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff & Sergei Vasilievich Rachmaninoff & Leopold Stokowski & The Philadelphia Orchestra

Piano Concerto No. 2 in C minor, Op. 18, is a piano concerto by Russian composer Sergei Rachmaninoff, completed in 1901 and first performed that year. The work exemplifies late-Romantic pianism with sweeping, lyrical themes, rich orchestral textures and virtuosic piano writing, and it marked a crucial return to composition for Rachmaninoff after the adverse reception of his First Symphony.
