The Testament of Freedom

The Testament of Freedom is a cantata by American composer Randall Thompson, composed in 1943. The work is a mid-20th-century choral composition for baritone and chorus, characterised by tonal harmony, lyrical melodic writing and clear contrapuntal textures, and is representative of Thompson's choral output during the wartime period and of mid-century American choral idioms.
