The Four Seasons is a set of four violin concertos by Italian Baroque composer Antonio Vivaldi, published in 1725 as part of his Op. 8 collection. The concertos employ programme-driven writing that depicts seasonal scenes through a solo violin accompanied by string ensemble and basso continuo, and they illustrate Vivaldi's role in the development of the solo concerto and programme music in the early 18th century.
