Funkentelechy vs. the Placebo Syndrome is a studio album by American funk band Parliament, released in 1977. The album expands Parliament's P-Funk sound with layered horns, prominent bass grooves, extended rhythmic vamps and synthesiser textures while advancing the group's science-fiction concept narratives, placing it firmly within the band's late-1970s era and contributing to the period's funk aesthetic and later sampling in hip-hop.
