Symphony No. 8 is the eighth symphony by Austrian composer Gustav Mahler, completed in 1906. Scored for very large forces including orchestra, multiple vocal soloists and sizeable choirs, it employs expansive late-Romantic orchestration, complex contrapuntal and harmonic textures and occupies a late position in Mahler's output as an extensive exploration of symphonic-choral synthesis.
