Violin Concerto
Album by Edward Elgar & Kyung‐Wha Chung & London Philharmonic Orchestra & Sir Georg Solti
The Violin Concerto in B minor, Op. 61 is a violin concerto by the English composer Edward Elgar, completed and first performed in 1910. A late-Romantic work characterised by long-breathed melodies and rich orchestral textures with an extended dialogue between solo violin and orchestra, it occupies a place in Elgar's later large-scale orchestral output and reflects a more introspective tone compared with some of his earlier nationalistic pieces.
