Piano Concertos, K. 466 & 467

Album by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart & Rudolf Buchbinder & Staatskapelle Dresden

Piano Concertos K.466 and K.467 are two piano concertos by Wolfgang Amadeus Mozart, composed in 1785 and 1786. They exemplify Classical-era concerto writing, pairing ornate, lyrical piano writing with active orchestral dialogue— the D minor concerto is characterised by a darker, more dramatic tone while the C major concerto is more serene and songful, and together they represent a mature phase in Mozart's concerto output that influenced later concerto practice.
