Sonate pour violoncelle et piano (often titled Sonates pour violoncelle et piano) is a sonata for cello and piano by César Franck, composed in 1886. The work blends late-Romantic harmonic richness, cyclical thematic development and lyrical melodic writing across its movements, and represents one of Franck's late mature compositions that helped shape the Franco-Belgian chamber-music tradition.
