Lieder ohne Worte is a collection of short piano pieces by Felix Mendelssohn, published in several books between 1829 and 1845. The works are Romantic-era piano miniatures characterised by lyrical, song-like melodies, clear textures and varied moods, and they are representative of Mendelssohn's middle-period output and of nineteenth-century piano-miniature practice.
