Symphony no. 3 “Polish”
Album by Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky & London Symphony Orchestra & Igor Markevitch
Symphony No. 3 in D major, Op. 29, nicknamed "Polish", is the third symphony by Russian composer Pyotr Ilyich Tchaikovsky, written and first performed in 1875. The work employs Romantic orchestral colour with an unusual five-movement structure and a dance-inflected finale, marking a transitional point in Tchaikovsky's symphonic writing between his early experiments and his later, more fully developed works.
