Symphony No. 6 is the sixth symphony by Russian composer Sergei Prokofiev, completed in 1947. It is a sombre, introspective large-scale orchestral work characterised by dense harmonies, stark orchestration and abrupt contrasts between melancholic slow movements and more agitated sections, representing a mature post-war statement in Prokofiev's symphonic output.
