The Soothsayer is an album by American saxophonist Wayne Shorter, released in 1979. It was recorded in Shorter's mid-1960s period and is rooted in post-bop with modal influences, and has complex harmonies, shifting rhythms and extended improvisation that show his move toward more adventurous writing.
