Melodic rap emerged in the late 2010s, combining the rhythmic flow of traditional rap with catchy melodies, creating a sound that occasionally makes you wonder if you're listening to a song or an emotional therapy session. It often features auto-tuned crooning layered over trap beats, giving it an air of vulnerability whilst still allowing for some pretty cheeky boasts.
