Juice WRLD was an American rapper and singer from Chicago who began releasing music on SoundCloud in the mid-2010s and became associated with emo rap and hip hop. His music fused melodic rap, emo and rock elements with candid lyrics about mental health and substance use, and his prolific freestyling and genre-blending played a significant role in the development of the emo rap subgenre.
