Cloud Rap

Cloud Rap emerged in the late 2000s, primarily from the internet, proving that you can blend hazy beats with introspective lyrics whilst still wearing a beanie indoors. Characterised by ethereal production and an ‘if it sounds nice, who cares about the rest?’ attitude, it’s like listening to a dream but with a slightly more cynical edge. The genre often features lyrics about existential musings, proving that even in rap, pondering life’s mysteries can be as important as flexing gold chains.
