The Revolution are an American rock, pop and funk band formed in Minneapolis in the late 1970s as the backing band for a solo artist and were active primarily in the 1980s. Their sound blended pop, rock, funk and R&B with synthesiser-driven production, layered arrangements and occasional psychedelic touches, evolving from dance-focused grooves to more expansive, studio-crafted compositions that helped shape the Minneapolis sound and 1980s popular music culture.
