Suzanne Ciani is an American composer and electronic musician from Indiana who began working with modular synthesisers and sound design in the late 1960s and early 1970s, later moving into ambient and new-age recording and performance. Her work blends Buchla modular synthesiser textures, piano and environmental sounds, evolving from commercial jingles and sound effects into concert performance and album releases and contributing to the integration of modular synthesis into media and experimental music contexts.
