Stanley Clarke

Stanley Clarke is an American bassist and composer from Philadelphia who began his professional career in the late 1960s and became a prominent figure in 1970s jazz fusion and contemporary jazz. His playing blends jazz, funk, rock and orchestral elements, expanding the role of the electric and double bass through advanced technique and melodic soloing, and he has worked as a solo artist, bandleader and composer for film and television across a multi-decade career.
