50 Cent is an American rapper and actor from South Jamaica, Queens, who began his music career in the late 1990s within hip hop and gangsta rap. His music has a mix of aggressive street-oriented lyricism and melodic hooks; he has worked in film, television and business and helped shape mainstream hip hop themes in the 2000s.
