Kirill Petrenko

Kirill Petrenko is a Russian-Austrian conductor, born in Omsk in 1972, who began his professional career in opera houses in Germany and Austria. Specialising in opera and Germanic orchestral repertoire, his career progressed from positions at regional opera companies to leadership roles at major European institutions, including appointment as chief conductor of the Berlin Philharmonic.
