Karina Canellakis

Karina Canellakis is an American conductor and violinist born in New York City in 1981 who began her musical career as a violinist before concentrating on conducting within the classical tradition. Her repertoire spans standard symphonic and operatic works as well as contemporary classical compositions, and she has developed an international presence through guest conducting engagements and festival appearances.
