Derrick May (born 6 April 1963) is an American electronic musician, producer and DJ from Detroit, Michigan. Recording under the alias Rhythim Is Rhythim, he released the 1987 track "Strings of Life", founded the Transmat record label and was active in the development of the Detroit techno sound.
