Kent Kessler

Kent Kessler is an American jazz double bassist from Champaign, Illinois, who became active in the Chicago creative-music scene in the early 1980s and works across free jazz, avant-garde and improvised music. His playing blends bowed and pizzicato techniques with an extended-range, textural approach, and his career has evolved through collaborative projects and ensemble work within both American and European experimental-jazz contexts.
