Georg Matthias Monn
Georg Matthias Monn was an Austrian composer and organist, born in Vienna in 1717 and active in the mid-18th century as part of the early Classical (pre-Classical) Viennese school. His surviving symphonies, concertos and keyboard and chamber works show a movement away from Baroque counterpoint towards clearer textures, periodic phrasing and early Classical orchestral forms that anticipated later Viennese practice.
