Irving Fine

Irving Fine was an American composer born in Boston in 1914 who began his career in the 1930s and is associated with mid-20th-century classical music. His work combined neoclassical forms with a lyrical modernism and occasional serial techniques, evolving from predominantly tonal chamber and choral pieces into more chromatic and structurally experimental compositions while he was active in academic and compositional circles in the United States.
