VHS Head is a British electronic music project from Kingston upon Hull that began in the mid-2000s, producing material rooted in sample-based electronic, chiptune and hauntology-tinged genres. Using found-sound samples often sourced from degraded VHS tapes, broadcast snippets and other lo-fi media, the project blends IDM and electro rhythms with collage-like, nostalgic textures and over successive releases moved from fragmented sample experiments toward more structured, beat-driven compositions while engaging with themes of media decay and retrofuturist nostalgia within the UK electronic underground.
