Les Baxter
Les Baxter was an American composer, arranger and conductor who began his professional career in the 1940s and became associated with orchestral pop, easy listening and the exotica genre. Combining lush orchestral arrangements with percussion and non-Western instrumentation, he produced mood-driven recordings and later moved into film and television scoring, contributing to mid-20th-century popular perceptions of 'exotic' soundscapes.
