Lounge music took its first sultry breaths in the swanky bars and clubs of mid-20th century America, where crooners and cocktail shakers formed an unholy alliance to create the perfect atmosphere for lazy evenings. It's characterised by smooth melodies, lush orchestration, and the occasional sax solo that whispers sweet nothings whilst maintaining an air of utter nonchalance.
