Dinosaur Jr are an American alternative rock band formed in 1984 in Amherst, Massachusetts, whose sound blends distorted, fuzz-heavy guitars with melodic hooks and dynamic shifts, drawing on indie rock, noise rock and classic rock influences. Emerging from the 1980s underground, they remain active, often exploring themes of introspection, distance and everyday disaffection.
