Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers
Art Blakey & The Jazz Messengers were an American jazz ensemble formed in New York City in the early 1950s, associated with the hard bop genre. Their music combined bebop improvisation with blues and gospel influences, and the ensemble operated as a rotating collective that developed successive generations of jazz musicians and contributed to the evolution of modern jazz.
